Terms of use
Last updated: 9 October 2026
These terms explain what CuddleCollect is, what you can expect from it, and the few rules that apply when you use it or send us something. Please read them alongside our privacy notice at /privacy/.
1. About CuddleCollect
CuddleCollect (cuddlecollect.com) is a free, independent, unofficial UK project. It helps you compare where new Jellycat soft toys are in stock at UK shops, and at what price.
CuddleCollect, an independent, unofficial project, not affiliated with, authorised or endorsed by Jellycat. Jellycat and its product names belong to their owner.
You can contact us at hello@cuddlecollect.com or through our contact form at /contact/.
2. We don't sell anything
- CuddleCollect doesn't sell toys, take payments, hold stock or deliver anything.
- When you click through to a shop, you leave CuddleCollect. Anything you buy is between you and that shop, under the shop's own terms, prices, delivery and returns policies.
- We don't check or guarantee the shops, their stock or the toys they sell. Please check the shop before you buy.
3. Where our prices and stock come from
- We collect prices and stock information from the public product pages of UK shops, the same pages a shopper would see.
- We use one small automated visitor, called CuddleCollectBot, which always says who it is. It reads and follows each shop's robots.txt rules, goes slowly (one request at a time per shop), and backs off or stops if a shop asks it to. It never logs in, never gets past a block or security check, and doesn't collect personal information about shoppers. You can read more on our How it works page at /how-it-works/.
- We match listings to toys using product codes and other checks. Matching isn't perfect, so a listing can occasionally be wrong. Please tell us if you spot one (see section 7).
4. Prices and stock can change: check the date and the shop
- Under each list of shops you'll see "Prices checked" and the date of our latest check for that page. Some rows may have been checked earlier. We check shops from time to time, not in real time, so what you see may be out of date.
- Always check the price, stock, delivery cost and condition on the shop's own website before you buy. The shop's page is always right; ours may not be.
- The prices we show are the item prices the shops show. Delivery isn't included, so see the shop's page for delivery costs.
- We only list new items.
- We take reasonable care, but we can't promise that any price, stock status or other detail on CuddleCollect is accurate, complete or up to date.
5. How results are ordered, and money
- Shops are listed in stock first, then preorder, then out of stock. Inside each group, the lowest item price comes first. If two prices are the same, shops are listed A to Z by name.
- Money never changes the order of results. Nobody pays to appear or to be placed higher. Our picks are editorial only and never paid for.
- CuddleCollect has no affiliate links, no adverts and no paid placement. If that ever changes, we'll label it clearly where it appears and update these terms; money still won't change the order of results.
- We don't run prize draws or competitions.
- We may hide a listing we think is wrong, for example a price that looks far out of line with other shops.
6. "Retired" labels
Some toy pages show a "Retired" label. It means the style is no longer in Jellycat's current range. We add it with reasonable care, but it's a guide only:
- it may be wrong or out of date, and a toy can come back;
- it describes what we understand for the UK, and may not apply elsewhere;
- it says nothing about what a toy is worth.
Please check with the shop before you buy.
7. Telling us about a problem, or if you run a shop
- Spotted something wrong? Use "Report a problem" on the listing, or email hello@cuddlecollect.com.
- Seen a toy elsewhere, or want your shop's stock listed? Use the "Seen it elsewhere, or want your stock listed? Let us know" form on the toy's page.
- Run a shop and want us to stop visiting your site, or to correct or remove your listing? Email hello@cuddlecollect.com or use our contact form at /contact/, giving your shop's web address. We aim to confirm within 5 working days and to make the change within 10.
We read everything we're sent, but we may not be able to act on every tip or report.
8. Back-in-stock alerts and the newsletter
- You can sign up for back-in-stock alerts and the newsletter now, but we aren't sending either yet. We're collecting sign-ups only.
- Before any alert or newsletter is sent, we'll update our privacy notice to name the email service we use. For alerts, we'll also email you first asking you to confirm, and you'll only get alerts if you click the link.
- We can't promise if or when a toy will be back in stock, or at what price. Once alerts start, we can't promise to spot every restock, or that a toy will still be in stock when you get to the shop.
- You can unsubscribe at any time. Until emails start, just email hello@cuddlecollect.com and we'll delete your sign-up.
9. Your wishlist
- "Save to wishlist" keeps a list of the toys you save in your own browser, on that device only (in your browser's local storage). It isn't sent to us or to anyone else, there's no account, and we don't use it to track you.
- Your wishlist page (/wishlist/) shows each saved toy's name with a link to its page.
- To remove a toy, press "Remove" on your wishlist page. To clear the whole list, clear this site's data in your browser settings. Clearing your browser data deletes your wishlist, and we can't restore it, because we never had a copy.
- Saving a toy doesn't reserve it, and doesn't sign you up for alerts.
10. Sending us photos ("Become CuddleFamous!")
If you send us a photo through our photo form, you confirm what you tick on the form, including that:
- "I took this photo myself, or I have the photo owner's permission to share it."
- "I'm 18 or over."
- "No people's faces, children or personal details (such as addresses or names) appear in the photo."
And you give us this permission, as it appears on the form:
"I give CuddleCollect permission to use this photo as it is, or edited (for example cropped, resized, colour-adjusted or with text added), on the CuddleCollect website and its social media, including Instagram. Permission is free of charge and doesn't expire. I keep the copyright, and I can ask for the photo to be removed from future use at any time."
Also:
- We review every photo by hand before it's used, and we may choose not to use it. Nothing is published automatically.
- At the moment we aren't showing visitors' photos on the website. Sending a photo doesn't mean it will be used. If your photo goes live, we'll message you using the email address you gave.
- The photo of the toy's tag is only for our check and is never published.
- We'll only credit you by the name or handle you give if you tick "Credit me by the name or handle above."
- To ask us to remove your photo, email hello@cuddlecollect.com. We'll hide it within 48 hours and delete it within 7 days.
- Please only send photos that you're allowed to share and that don't break anyone else's rights.
See our privacy notice at /privacy/ for how we store photos and how long we keep them.
11. Using CuddleCollect fairly
Please don't:
- send us anything unlawful, offensive or misleading, or someone else's photo without their permission;
- use our forms to send spam or advertising;
- try to break, overload or get around the security of the site.
We may ignore or delete anything sent to us that breaks these rules.
12. Links to other websites
We link to shops' websites so you can check and buy. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, prices, stock, products or how they handle your information.
13. Our responsibility to you
CuddleCollect is free and provided as it is. We can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change, pause or stop any part of it.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have by law, or excludes any liability that the law doesn't allow us to exclude.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when back-in-stock alerts or the newsletter start. We'll change the date at the top when we do.
15. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
